2010 Mayor’s Volunteer Houston Award recognizes Bo’s Place volunteer

dorothy_lurie_400Dr. Dorothy Mackey Lurie has served Bo’s Place as a volunteer since 2006 as both a Volunteer Facilitator and a member of the Bo’s Place Board of Directors, and she has served on numerous committees, in addition. 

Dorothy’s contributions benefit both the family participants of the program, as well as the institutional advancement of the organization.  As a Volunteer Facilitator, Dorothy brings comfort, support and consistency to the weekly groups she facilitates.  And as a member of the Board of Directors, Dorothy brings her professional expertise and connections to Bo’s Place to help improve our programs.

Accomplishing great achievements for Bo’s Place, Dorothy selflessly and passionately gives in every way she can to our organization and to grieving families.  As the beneficiary of Dorothy’s generosity as a volunteer, we at Bo’s Place can think of no better way to express our sincere gratitude that by having her recognized as a recipient of the 2010 Mayor’s Volunteer Houston Award.
