Grief Support Groups
Bo’s Place offers several grief support groups. All groups are offered free-of–charge to the participants. The groups offer a safe place where adults and children can share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences of the grief journey. It is in these groups that the “magic” of Bo’s Place happens.
On-Going Family Groups
The On-Going Groups currently meet twice a month on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Sundays. Monday and Wednesday groups are two hours for the families starting at 6:15 p.m. and ending at 8:15 p.m. Sunday groups start at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. The groups begin with a 30-minute potluck dinner (Mondays and Wednesdays) or lunch (Sundays) for everyone, including adults and children. Then the group is divided into age appropriate small groups for a 75-minute session involving expressive arts, physical activities, and processing. Families remain in these groups as long as they feel it helpful. There is an adult group facilitated in Spanish on Sundays.
LIGHT Family Groups
The LIGHT Group (Looking Inward Grieving Healing Together) is an 8 or 9-week time limited group for families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a child or an adult in their immediate family. The evening is two hours for the families starting at 6:15 p.m. and ending at 8:15 p.m. The evening begins with a 30-minute potluck dinner for everyone, including adults and children.
