Synopsis:
At the end of life, families are often overwhelmed by the thought of discussing death and dying with young children. They worry about how the death will impact the family system, and particularly the child’s day to day functioning. This training will focus on children’s understanding of death in various developmental stages, as well as a review of several experiential activities and resources for grieving children. Hospice professionals will learn common grief indicators in children, to become equipped to offer support and educate parents on expected reactions.
