Bo’s Place is a bereavement center offering grief support services to children, ages 3 to 18, and their families who have experienced the death of a child or an adult in their immediate family, as well as programs for grieving adults. Bo’s Place is founded on the belief that grieving children sharing their experiences with each other greatly helps in their grief journey.
47th Annual Spindletop Charities Golf Tournament
Bo's Place was invited to attend the 47th Spindletop International Golf Tournament at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center, where our representatives manned the 7th Hole. For every golfer who landed their tee shot on the green, Spindletop gave Bo’s Place $100. With 49 qualifying shots, we will receive $4,900 from Spindletop. PLUS, for having Bo's Place representatives at the tournament to educate players about “where their money goes,” we received an additional $5,000. Spindletop supporters now know a lot more about Bo’s Place, and they will be giving us almost $10,000!
Spindletop was founded in 1966 by leaders in the oil and gas industry. Since that time the organization has donated over $14.6 million to Houston area youth charities—Bo’s Place included!
Parents' Night Out
An energetic group from the Baylor College of Medicine's Pediatric Student Association hosted the annual Spring Parent’s Night Out. They provided a fabulous dinner feas, including an enormous chocolate swirl cake decorated with balloons. These volunteers entertained Bo's Place children playing basketball outside, games in the tornado room and dress-up room, and a movie. The evening concluded with a student magician who captivated his young audience.
Parent’s Night Out was the brainchild of a former Baylor Pediatric student and Bo's Place facilitator five years ago and has been a huge success from the onset.
